Job Summary
Own and maintain the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system, ensuring data integrity across bills of materials, lead times, and safety stock levels. Translate sales forecasts and production schedules into detailed purchasing requirements, quantifying future needs for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods. Analyze inventory performance metrics including turns, aging stock, and obsolescence risk to identify slow-moving items and recommend corrective actions. Reconcile physical inventory counts against system records, support month-end close processes, and develop dashboards to track KPIs for the CFO. Work cross-functionally with Purchasing, Production, and Finance to align material availability with manufacturing schedules and optimize working capital. This role reports to the CFO and supports continuous improvement of inventory planning processes within the cosmetics industry.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4+ years of experience in inventory planning, procurement, materials planning, or supply chain operations
- Demonstrated experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Strong understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and inventory management principles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and forecasting
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Understanding of production workflows, inventory transactions, goods receipt processes, and inventory controls
- Financial acumen with the ability to understand the cost and operational impact of inventory decisions and stock adjustments
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
- Remote work capability
Desired Qualifications
- Experience preferably within the cosmetics, beauty, personal care, or related consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry
- NetSuite experience
- Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
