Job Summary
Inventory Manager for Open Cupboard overseeing core warehouse operations (receiving, quality-checking inbound deliveries, labeling and organizing inventory, staging outbound orders) with hands-on floor work and growing into cross-site inventory management, inter-site transfers, and logistics coordination across a multi-site distribution network. Responsibilities include operating electric pallet jacks and walk-behind stackers, ensuring proper temperature-controlled storage in multi-temperature environments, coordinating with volunteer teams, delegating tasks, monitoring stock levels, and contributing to real-time availability tracking. Over time, role expands to demand planning, transfer documentation, scalable outbound workflows, and inventory allocation decisions, while maintaining a safe, clean warehouse and promoting food safety practices. Qualifications emphasize warehouse experience, physical capability, familiarity with perishable goods, inventory principles, data entry, and strong communication and leadership with volunteers.
Required Qualifications
- Warehouse experience required
- Operating electric pallet jacks and walk-behind stackers
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency including data entry and record-keeping
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to adapt to varied and changing work requirements
- Experience in perishable goods, food distribution, or food service environment preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead and delegate to volunteers
