Job Summary
Coordinate manufactured and purchased items in the plant by reading production schedules, customer orders, and work orders to determine movement and distribution needs. Convey materials from receiving or production areas to storage or designated zones, sorting and placing items on racks, shelves, or bins by size, type, style, color, or product code. Fill requisitions for materials and tools, distribute stock to production workers, assemble customer orders into pallets, and perform straightforward assembly in the Kitting Area. Mark materials with identifying information, open containers, record received or distributed amounts, weigh or count items for distribution, enter records on the computer, and drive a vehicle or forklift to transport items. Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments while working safely and following all guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED)
- 1 year related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Weiler Forklift Operators Certificate
- Prior experience with a computer
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Must have strong leadership skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to perform simple tasks, such as setting tabs, opening and closing files, and simple formulas
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, reach with and use hands and fingers, talk and hear
- Ability to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, climb and balance
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work while regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles
- Ability to work while occasionally exposed to vibration
- Ability to work while occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions
- Ability to work in a loud noise level environment
