INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST II -2ND SHIFT

Job Summary
Maintain perpetual inventory accuracy by identifying and correcting variances, analyzing slow-moving items, and coordinating cycle counts for finished goods and bulk materials. Monitor FEFO, age in transit, and receiving discrepancies while tracking missing items through inter-org transfers, sales orders, and invoices. Enter data into Oracle, review reconciliation documents for lot number accuracy, and assist with returns to suppliers, donations, and freight claims. Pull product samples for Sales, Marketing, HR, R&D, and QC. Adhere to safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements, participate in safety training, and support QA during audits for lot trace and mass balance. Requires forklift certification, moderate computer data entry experience, and ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Moderate level of computer data entry experience
- Forklift certification
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively to groups of customers or employees
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and higher math functions
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
- Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to regularly stand and/or walk
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to use hands to inspect, handle, feel, and/or use a tape dispensing gun
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to talk or hear
- Ability to access the products on the floor or low shelves
- Ability to operate a hand truck or forklift with a 24-inch step
- Ability to lift up to 55 lb. from at least 5 inches of the ground up to 62 inches high
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from at least 5 inches off the ground to 30 inches high; transfer from 30 to 50 inches high and return to the original position
- Ability to lift up to 55 lb. from 12 inches to 36 inches high, transfer from 36 to 50 inches high, and return to the original position
- Ability to raise a 55-lb. pallet from the floor to one side, move it up to 10 feet, and return it to its original position
- Ability to move pallet jacks by pushing and pulling with a force of up to 42 lbs. at 36-inch height
- Ability to open and close truck doors
- Ability to pull down with 70 lbs. of force from 75 inches and pull up with 70 lbs. of force from 9 inches
- Ability to regularly work near moving mechanical parts
- Ability to be frequently exposed to herbal aromas, dust, and/or airborne particles, some of which are classified as allergens or irritants
- Ability to work in all areas of NOW's manufacturing facilities with direct exposure to ingredients (powders and liquids), mixes (powders and liquids), equipment, and packaging
- Ability to be exposed to all of the FDA-designated major food allergens (Milk, Eggs, Fish, Crustacean shellfish (e.g., crab, lobster, shrimp), Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans), Wheat, and Soybeans, except peanuts)
- Ability to tolerate a noise level in the work environment that is usually moderately loud, and louder hearing protection is required in some areas
Desired Qualifications
- A high school diploma, two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A strong inventory control background with particular emphasis on cycle counts, inventory investigation, return to vendors, and scrap material
