Inventory Control Manager

Job Summary
Oversee inventory processes across 5–7 Moon Valley Nurseries locations, conducting regular audits, cycle counts, and variance investigations for thousands of live-goods SKUs to ensure accurate stock rotation and reduce shrink. Develop control procedures to maintain real-time data accuracy in inventory systems, coordinate transfers and allocations of high-demand plant material, and identify aged or damaged inventory for disposition. Train location teams on tagging standards and count accuracy while providing coaching on standardized protocols. Analyze trends to recommend improvements and prepare weekly accuracy reports for leadership, optimizing ordering and inventory flow. This active role requires standing, walking, and lifting items over 15 pounds outdoors in varying weather conditions, with a valid driver's license and ability to travel daily within the LA region.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, or operations—preferably in high-SKU retail, distribution, or nursery/landscape environments
- Maintaining accurate pricing for all nurseries along with the plant/tree merchandising (bench cards, Info tags etc)
- Strong data accuracy, attention to detail, and comfort with high-volume SKU environments
- Proficient with inventory management systems, POS, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel daily within the LA region
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; this role regularly walks nursery yards, inspects product, and performs physical counts
- Able to frequently lift and/or move items over 15 pounds
- Subject to MVR and criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing inventory across multiple locations strongly preferred
- Spanish bilingual ability is a strong plus
