Job Summary
Develop and implement inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies. Oversee regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories, investigating and resolving variances. Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and optimize stock levels while collaborating with production, procurement, and warehousing to ensure a smooth flow of materials. Manage the inventory management system and implement strategies to reduce excess and obsolete inventory. Lead and mentor a team of inventory control specialists, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role supports manufacturing partners in the Grand Rapids region seeking skilled professionals for inventory control positions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in inventory control, logistics, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles, including forecasting, demand planning, and optimization techniques
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
- Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, specifically SAP or Oracle
- Certification in Inventory Management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP)
