Inventory and Logistics Accountant

Job Summary

Maintain and reconcile detailed records of Electrolit inventory transactions, including purchases, warehouse transfers, adjustments, and usage across all U.S. locations and 3PL partners. Coordinate full physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts, then review supporting documentation to ensure strong segregation of duties and internal control compliance. Monitor outbound freight expenses, reconcile accruals, and analyze variances between actual invoices and budgeted amounts while preparing monthly reporting packages on inventory levels and warehousing expenses. Support month-end and year-end close for inventory, logistics, and freight accounts, ensuring GAAP compliance and identifying cost trends that impact the distribution network. Partner with IT and operations on system enhancements and data-quality initiatives within a fast-growing CPG environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of related accounting experience, consistent with intermediate level
  • Ability to work on-site at Electrolit's Houston office
  • Willingness to support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate closely with warehouse and distribution partners
  • Commitment to maintaining segregation of duties and strong internal controls
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
  • Ability to lift or move office materials up to 10 pounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, or logistics accounting
  • Experience in CPG, manufacturing, or food and beverage operations
  • CPA eligibility
  • Experience working with 3PLs, multi-warehouse environments, or high-volume inventory systems
  • Experience with Excel
  • Experience working with ERP or inventory management platforms
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, FP&A, Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Operations teams
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines
  • Ability to identify process improvements that enhance inventory accuracy and strengthen internal controls
  • Comfortable working in a fast-growing, fast-moving environment
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for data accuracy
  • Knowledge of GAAP and inventory accounting practices commonly used in the CPG/food and beverage sector
  • Familiarity with high-volume inventory environments that rely on 3PLs, FEFO processes, and multi-warehouse distribution
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost and volume trends across warehousing and freight
  • Ability to reconcile complex accounts and resolve discrepancies across multiple systems
