Inventory and Cost Accountant

Job Summary
Receive and track purchased reroll, tie out month-end inventory, and accrue in-transit reroll via journal entry. Monitor and record transactions for outside slitting, prepare finished goods inventory roll forwards, and analyze physical inventory variances, melt loss, and scrap to improve processes. Collaborate with Customer Service to ensure FGTs are created for outside slit coils and review West plant data collection for accuracy. Provide daily support to the Senior Cost Accountant and analyze causes of variances to reduce discrepancies. Entry-level position requiring a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of manufacturing experience. Work in a safe environment adhering to all safety rules while representing core values of commitment, action orientation, and sustainability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills
- Ability to coordinate and work cross-functionally
- Self-starter, detail oriented and able to work well without continual supervision
