Job Summary

Skilled role focused on applying herbicides to control invasive aquatic and terrestrial vegetation. Responsibilities include measuring, mixing, and safely applying herbicide spray per label directions; calibrating and maintaining application equipment; posting warning signs; operating boat, airboat, Marsh Master, ATVs, trucks, and related gear; supporting prescribed burns and wildfire suppression; conducting inspections of districts and public water bodies; attending training to maintain certifications; handling field repairs and data entry in ArcGIS; and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Requires ability to read maps, make data-driven decisions, communicate with diverse stakeholders, and work in outdoor field environments. Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of natural resource management experience or related field education
  • State of Florida Driver’s License
  • State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Restricted Use Pesticide License with Aquatics and Natural Areas category certificates or ability to obtain within six months
  • Ability to read maps and aerial photos; sound decisions; effective communication; accurate measurements and data entry; weather-related assessments; operate and repair pesticide application equipment; operate boats, ATVs, trailers; field repairs; teamwork; public inquiries; ArcGIS data entry
