Job Summary
Invasive Cardiovascular Tech I/II in EP Lab (Days) oversees invasive cardiologic procedures as part of a scrub, monitor, and circulating team in Cardiac Cath/EP Lab. The role requires RCIS/RCES/RT credentials or eligible health-science education with certification obtainable within specified timelines, and completion of core competencies during orientation. Responsibilities include assisting during diagnostic/interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique and radiation safety, data collection and charge entry, and coordinating with the health-care team to ensure quality patient care. Located in Richmond, VA; position is full-time with on-site duties.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited RCIS or RCES program OR graduate of a certificate or degree-granting health science program with RCIS/RCES eligibility
- Requires the individual to obtain RCIS or RCES certification within two years of hire OR for Radiologic Technology: graduate of JCERT radiology program and obtain RT certification by ARRT within 90 days of hire; obtain VI, CI, RCIS, or RCES within two years of hire
- BLS, ACLS
- Novice-level to competent in routine studies; able to perform scrub, monitor, and circulating duties during diagnostic and interventional procedures; knowledge of radiation protection and safety; maintain sterility; accurate charge entry; data collection; patient preparation; non-invasive monitoring; recognize life-threatening changes and alert senior staff
