Job Summary
Conduct cardiac catheterization procedures and assist physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures while maintaining sterile conditions. Operate imaging equipment in the control room, monitor and document procedure images, and educate patients on pre- and post-procedure expectations. Manage unit cleanliness, maintain stock levels for complex interventions, and complete daily, progress, and discharge documentation. Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives by identifying process improvements and addressing potential hazards. Work full-time 36-hour shifts with variable 9-hour days and on-call rotation at Good Samaritan Hospital's Cath Lab.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Registered ARRT or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV specific certification or RCIS or RCES at time of hire, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS is required within 18 months of hire
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP)
- ACLS and Surgical Technologist License with DORA obtained within 3 months of hire in state of Colorado
- Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to frequently interact with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication and hearing
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment including heavy items
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Bachelor's Degree or Certification
- Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS is required or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV specific certification or RCIS or RCES
- Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS
- Surgical Technologist License with DORA obtained within 3 months of hire in state of Colorado
- Four (4) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab

- Five (5) or more years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab
