Job Summary
Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs to improve the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while incorporating Watson's and Benner's theories. Facilitate clinical learning, develop curricula, and conduct annual staff skill validation to support the autonomy of nursing associates. Collaborate with clinical leaders to identify solutions for care delivery, forecast educational trends, and differentiate system issues from specific learning needs. Serve as a resource for nurses and physicians on evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance, and new policy development. Evaluate program outcomes, coordinate orientation programs, and contribute to department budget planning for educational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school
- AHA BLS Provider CPR
- AHA ACLS Provider
- Certified in Nursing Professional Development within 3 years
- Scheduling flexibility to meet the educational goals
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in specialty area
- Proficient with electronic systems and programs (Microsoft Office products, Online Learning tools)
- Constant (67-100% of workday) use of arms and hands
- Frequent (34-66% of workday) standing, walking, and sitting
- Occasional (0-33% of workday) bending, stooping, and squatting
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull up to 20 lbs.
- Auditory and visual skills to include color determination
- Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Capacity to cope with difficult situations
- Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
