Job Summary
Teach Introduction to Psychology (PSYC 100) on-site in California, MD, by actively engaging students through frequent interaction and guiding them in active collaboration and problem-based learning demonstrations. Provide rich, regular constructive feedback using rubrics to assess student work while demonstrating current subject-matter expertise across neuroscience, cognition, social behavior, and psychopathology. Offer feedback to the program chair on curricular improvements and complete the required two-week online new faculty orientation as a condition of hire. This role supports adult learners and military personnel within the University of Maryland Global Campus's mission-driven psychology program.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychology or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Professional experience in Psychology or related field
- Must be able to teach on-site in California, MD
- Required to successfully complete our online two-week new faculty orientation, FacDev 411, as a condition of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred
- Terminal degree in Psychology or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Cover letter highly preferred
