Job Summary
Instruct adult incarcerated students in culinary arts, demonstrating techniques for safe food and beverage preparation while managing classroom behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment. Plan and direct learning activities using Windham School District curriculum guides, administer diagnostic and achievement tests, and maintain accurate student progress records and attendance logs. Prepare lesson plans, organize instructional materials, and comply with Texas Education Agency and Department of Criminal Justice policies. Participate in faculty meetings, staff development, and committee work as assigned. This role requires personal technology for remote duties and involves occasional prolonged, irregular hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma from an accredited high school, or hold GED equivalent
- Five years full-time, wage-earning experience within the past ten years in culinary arts, kitchen management, or restaurant management
- Valid Servsafe Food Handler Instructor/Proctor or ServSafe Food Manger certification
- Thirty semester hours from an accredited college, university, or technical school
