Job Summary
Instruct adult incarcerated students in the technical and soft skills needed to gain entry-level employment in construction. Deliver direct instruction in Basic Safety, Introduction to Construction Math, identification and use of hand and power tools, and basic understanding of construction. Manage classroom and lab instruction across various construction trades, plan and direct learning activities, follow curriculum guides, participate in faculty activities, maintain attendance and student progress records, administer tests, supervise students and aides, and adhere to Windham School District policies and TEA requirements while ensuring confidentiality and ethical conduct.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five years full-time wage-earning experience in construction or related field within last ten years
- Thirty semester hours from an accredited college, university, or technical school may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis with max substitution of four years
- Statement of qualification verifying work experience (Windham School District)
- Ability to work remotely (personal technology enabling duties)
