Job Summary
Instruct adult incarcerated students in entry-level construction careers, delivering core content in Basic Safety, Introduction to Construction Math, and use/identification of hand and power tools, alongside overarching construction trades instruction. Responsibilities include planning and directing lessons, following WSD curriculum, maintaining lesson plans and attendance records, administering and documenting tests, ensuring student progress, maintaining confidentiality, and complying with Windham School District and TEA policies. Requires strong oral/written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt instructional methods to diverse learners while supervising students and teacher aides as needed. The role may involve remote-work capabilities enabled by personal technology and is located in Gatesville, Texas. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Five years full-time wage-earning experience in construction or related field within last ten years
- Thirty semester hours from accredited college/university/technical school may substitute for experience (max 4 years)
- Statement of qualification verifying work experience from Windham School District
- Ability to work remotely using personal technology
