Job Summary
Implement the academic component of the Upward Bound Program by introducing high school students to college and career pathways in Chemistry. Provide guidance and mentorship during structured class periods to help students explore educational requirements, career opportunities, and professional pathways within chemistry and related fields. Deliver one 50-minute class period each Thursday evening from 6:30 P.M. to 8:20 P.M. from September 24th through December 10th, 2026. A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Education, and/or a related field is required, with a Master's degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Education, and/or a related field
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for Thursday evenings from 6:30 P.M. – 8:20 P.M.
- Must be available for classes from September 24th through December 10th
- Must be able to implement the academic component of the program
- Must be able to provide guidance and mentorship
- Must be able to help students explore educational requirements
- Must be able to help students explore career opportunities
- Must be able to help students explore professional pathways within chemistry and related fields
- Must be able to conduct one (1), 50-minute class period each Thursday
- Must be able to receive and follow the schedule ahead of time
- Must be able to pass a thorough background screening
- Must be able to complete FBI fingerprinting
- Must be able to complete PA Criminal History clearances
- Must be able to complete PA Child Abuse clearances
Desired Qualifications

- Experience working with high school students
- Experience working in a college-preparatory program
