Job Summary
Implement the academic component of the Upward Bound Program by introducing high school students to health and medical science career pathways through structured class periods. Provide guidance and mentorship while helping students explore educational requirements, career opportunities, and professional pathways within the health and medical sciences. Deliver one 50-minute class period each Thursday evening from 6:30 P.M. to 8:20 P.M. for the Fall 2026 term. A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Education, or a related field is required, with a Master's degree preferred. Employment is contingent upon background screening and additional clearances under PA Act 153.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Education, and/or a related field
- Employment at Wilkes University is contingent upon the results of a thorough background screening
- PA Act 153 requires individuals working in positions with regular and unsupervised contact with minors to complete additional clearances, including FBI fingerprinting, PA Criminal History, and PA Child Abuse clearances
