Job Summary
Prepare patients and conduct routine outpatient and inpatient intraoperative neuromonitoring procedures for neurosurgery and orthopedic cases involving aneurysms, tumors, and spinal fusions. Document comprehensive patient histories, apply electrodes, and maintain testing equipment while reporting malfunctions. Perform advanced tests, interpret intraoperative EP, EMG, and EEG data independently, and prepare recordings for physician interpretation. Troubleshoot common artifacts, archive files per lab policy, and communicate effectively with patients and medical staff. Requires CNIM certification, three years of neurodiagnostic experience, and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Three years of experience in the neurodiagnostic field which includes one year experience in their specialty modality of practice
- Bachelor's Degree OR Associate's Degree from accredited Allied Health Neurodiagnostic Education Program (CAAHEP) OR 2 years' experience as an internal END Tech
- BLS certification
- Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) from ABRET and/or D.ABNM
- Familiarity with in-house monitoring equipment
- Ability to perform basic spine and basic craniotomy cases
- Ability to interpret intraoperative EP, EMG, and EEG independently or under indirect supervision
- Computer literacy
- Attention to detail, vigilance, poise and composure in stressful situations
- Ability to troubleshoot common monitoring problems
- Clear, concise written documentation and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of current techniques/regulatory standards

- HRC, DCH and KPV
- Possible exposure to human tissue/fluids with direct patient contact
