Job Summary
As an Intraop Surgical Technologist Coordinator in Banner Health’s same-day Surgery department, you will select and place surgical instruments and supplies, pass instruments and retract tissue, and support aseptic technique throughout procedures. You will supervise and mentor the Surg Tech team, manage instrument cards and pick lists, assist with OR turnover, stock supplies, and provide administrative support as needed. The role emphasizes clinical oversight for instruments and efficiency, collaboration with physicians, supply chain, and stakeholders, and involvement in onboarding for new staff, physicians, residents, and students. Requires a high school diploma/GED, current BLS, and certification as a surgical technologist with 1–4 years of experience (or equivalent experience), with potential state registration where applicable. The position is full-time, day/midshift/night rotations with on-call including weekend/holiday rotations, at Banner University Medical Center Tucson in Arizona.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Current basic life support certification
- Certified as a surgical technologist with one to two years of experience OR three to four years of experience in a surgical technologist role
- Where applicable must be registered with State Regulatory Agency
