Job Summary

Interventions Teacher provides remedial instruction in reading, writing and mathematics under the principal’s supervision, delivering district-approved curricula, developing assessments and lesson plans, and using varied instructional methods and technology to raise student achievement. Responsibilities include designing assessment techniques to identify student needs, translating plans into learning experiences, teaching letter/word recognition, grammar, writing and math skills, monitoring student progress with evaluation instruments, coordinating with other staff, staying current with district/state standards, maintaining accurate records, engaging parents, procuring instructional materials, and traveling to district buildings and professional meetings as required. Requires Indiana state certification in remedial language arts or mathematics, or as required, and a bachelor’s degree in an education discipline; master’s degree is preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Indiana State Certification as a Remedial Language Arts Teacher, Mathematics Teacher or as required for position
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation
  • Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred
