Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Summary

Collaborate on patient medical issues with physicians to determine protocols and procedures. Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results, and administer isotope dosages per departmental protocol. Monitor patient conditions continually, report status changes, and provide medical care including oxygen administration, vital signs, and emergency treatments. Operate imaging and ancillary equipment safely while practicing correct radiation protection, shielding, and collimating. Maintain, clean, and report equipment issues; complete exams efficiently and evaluate films for technical quality. Accurately document all clinical patient care data and participate in quality improvement activities. Adhere to Solaris Health Code of Conduct, maintain HIPAA confidentiality, and complete annual compliance training. Requires ARRT certification, BLS, and one year of interventional radiologic experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Radiography
  • Graduate of Accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • A minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiologic Technologist experience
  • Valid ARRT Certification in Radiography
  • BLS certification
  • Knowledge of routine to complex Radiologic procedures and protocols
  • Knowledge in healthcare systems operations such as EMR
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare coding systems, and clinics functions
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements
  • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely
  • Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to make decisive judgment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients and family
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with ability to monitor own work to ensure quality
  • Complies with all health and safety policies of the organization
  • License and certification as required by state
