Job Summary

Perform routine and specialized vascular, non-vascular, and/or neuro interventional procedures under general supervision. Operate CT scanners for interventional radiology procedures and diagnostic scans, administering contrast media and participating in procedure-related patient care activities. Maintain sterile technique as either a scrub or circulating technologist while verifying physician orders and preparing patients for examinations. Prioritize patient flow, coordinate care with the healthcare team, and document activities in electronic health records. Ensure equipment maintenance through quality control activities and participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives. This role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and is available at Montgomery Medical Center in Olney MD or Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore MD.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree
  • Certificate in Radiologic Technology (awarded before January 1, 2015) from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an interventional radiology environment, such as cardiac catheterization, vascular interventional, or neurointerventional services
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire
  • Advanced certification in Cardiovascular Interventional (CV), Cardiac Interventional (CI), or Vascular Interventional (VI) Radiography for individuals hired on or after July 1, 2017
  • Licensed Radiologic Technologist in the applicable state (Maryland or Virginia) upon hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification at designated sites

Desired Qualifications

  • ARRT Radiography Certification [ARRT(R)] and Computed Tomography Certification [ARRT(CT)]
  • Computed Tomography Certification through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
