Job Summary
Interventional Radiology Technologist provides hands-on support for interventional and basic surgical procedures by operating angiographic equipment, assisting as a scrub, monitoring patient status, and ensuring diagnostic-quality images. Responsibilities include patient positioning and transport, image acquisition and post-processing, documentation and coding, safety and radiation protection, and collaboration with physicians, residents, and clinical staff. Qualifications include Radiographer license in Wisconsin, ARRT RT registration, BLS, and ACLS within 6 months, plus advanced radiologic technology training; the role requires independence, strong communication, and ability to handle life-threatening situations. The position is full-time with varied call requirements at Advocate Sherman Hospital in Illinois.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required: Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin, and Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
