Job Summary
Interventional Radiology Technologist (Angio Interventionalist) role supporting the Angio lab team. Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech, ensures proper patient identification and preparation, adheres to radiation safety, and contributes to QC programs. Develops knowledge of invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies and applies appropriate indications and deployment techniques. Performs advanced interventional procedures (ablation, stents, thrombectomy, embolization) and orients new staff as a preceptor/proctor. Transports patients as needed, maintains supplies, and delivers patient education, comfort, and documentation of procedures and any adverse events. Requires ARRT certification, BLS, ACLS (within 120 days for non-pediatric hospitals), and PALS within 120 days for pediatric settings; VIR certification preferred. Strong teamwork, communication, infection control/sterile techniques, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years Angio/Interventional experience or Vascular/Interventional radiography certification
- ARRT - American Registry Upon Hire Required
- BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
- ACLS - within 120 Days Required for non-pediatric hospitals
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced within 120 Days Required for only pediatric hospitals
- Vascular/Interventional Radiography (VIR) certification Preferred
