Job Summary
Assess, monitor, and provide care for patients undergoing interventional procedures requiring sedation before, during, and after the procedure. Conduct pre-procedure phone screening for IN/IR patients. Manage complex patient needs by assuming full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care. Demonstrate initiative, clinical skills, and observational abilities to set priorities while adhering to I.C.A.R.E. standards and the Patient and Family Centered Care Model. Work a rotating schedule including 16 shifts every six months with weekend shifts, summer and winter holidays, and onsite hours at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- BSN
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure
- BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers
- ACLS
- Excellent IV skills
- 2 years of critical care experience
- 16 shifts every 6 months
- 4 weekend shifts
- One summer and one winter holiday
- Assess, monitor and provide care for the patient before, during and after the procedure
- Pre-procedure phone screening for our IN/IR patients
- Planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care
- Demonstrates initiative, knowledge and clinical skills in caring for the patient with complex needs
- Effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of patient care
- Assure the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model
- Adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards
Desired Qualifications
- Background in Interventional Nursing (Interventional Radiology, Interventional Cardiology, Endoscopy)
- Procedural sedation experience
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Evidence of the basic analytic thinking necessary to care for a group of patients
- Observational skills
- Ability to set priorities
- Membership in professional organizations
- Certification in a specialty area
