Job Summary
Assist physicians in diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic radiologic procedures while maintaining sterile preparation of patient access areas and procedure trays. Ensure proper documentation of contrast material usage and patient charges, and maintain professional competency in vascular, spinal, neurological, and general imaging techniques. Participate in mandatory educational assignments, complete "time out" procedures, and support patient safety through post-procedure huddles. Maintain a clean work environment, follow infection reduction policies, and wear personal radiation protection devices during all procedures. This full-time position at the University of Kansas Health System requires an accredited radiologic technology graduate with interventional exposure, BLS certification, and state licensure. The role includes regular on-call responsibilities and frequent overtime to cover patient care needs.
Required Qualifications
- Radiologic Technology Graduate of an Accredited Radiology Technologist Program
- 1 or more years of broad interventional exposure
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT) - Kansas Board of Healing Arts (KSBHA)
- Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Ability to learn and use multiple imaging and medical record systems
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
- Must be able to understand and utilize the inventory tracking system and be able to order supplies when the opportunity presents
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
