Job Summary
Assess patients before interventional pain procedures by reviewing medical history, allergies, medications, and baseline vital signs. Prepare patients for image-guided interventions such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, and radiofrequency ablations while maintaining sterile technique. Assist physicians during procedures, administer medications including moderate sedation and local anesthetics, and continuously monitor for changes in vital signs or complications. Provide post-procedure recovery care, manage discomfort, and deliver discharge instructions regarding activity restrictions and wound care. Coordinate patient scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations with multidisciplinary teams while documenting all assessments and interventions in the electronic health record.
Required Qualifications
- Current University of Arkansas System employees, including student employees and graduate assistants
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- Graduate from an ASBN approved nursing program
- Associate Degree, Bachelor's in Nursing, Master's in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma
- Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Arkansas
- 1 year of direct RN Nursing Care experience
- Current BLS
- Current ACLS for Procedural Area
- Annual TB Screening
- Criminal Background Check
- Motor Vehicle Reports Check
- Substance Abuse Testing
