Job Summary
Interventional cardiologist for locum tenens coverage at a Level IV trauma facility in Kentucky. Role includes inpatient care and outpatient clinic consultations with an average census of 70–90 patients, cath lab volume of 3–5 cases per day and inpatient load of about 5 per day. Requires PCI, stent placement, thrombectomy, valvuloplasty and percutaneous repair/replacement, balloon angioplasty, and use of cutting/laser devices for plaque removal. 24-hour STEMI call; APC support from 8–10 AM and after 3 PM; EPIC EMR on-site. On-site anesthesia and intensivist support available 24/7. Assignment duration is locum tenens with a mix of inpatient and clinic duties.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certification Required: Yes
- Ischemic heart disease interventions: PCI, stent placement, thrombectomy
- Valve disease procedures including valvuloplasty and percutaneous repair/replacement
- Congenital heart abnormalities
- Balloon angioplasty
- Use of cutting/laser devices for plaque removal
- APC support on-site 8-10 AM and after 3 PM
- EPIC EMR system
- Inpatient care and clinic consultations
- 24-hour STEMI call
