Job Summary
Provide academic support to elementary school students through literacy and math instruction while maintaining organized records of individual and school data. Collect, analyze, and report data manually and through technology to track student progress. Support classroom teachers by implementing diagnostic reading assessments and delivering targeted interventions. Maintain appropriate relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through strong verbal and written communication. This role requires a minimum of previous experience in academic support, with a preference for candidates holding a Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate and proficiency in educational technology. The position operates on a 24-29 hour weekly schedule during the 35-week school year, starting August 19, 2026, under a contract through EDUStaff.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience giving academic support to elementary school students.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to develop and maintain appropriate relationships and rapport with students, parents and colleagues.
- Organized and thorough in collection, analysis, record keeping and reporting of individual and school data, both manually and through use of appropriate technology.
- Ability to support classroom teacher-based literacy instruction and/or math instruction.
Desired Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate with an emphasis in reading/language arts and/or math.
- Experience with implementing and analyzing diagnostic reading assessments.
- Knowledge and experience in providing support to math instruction.
- Demonstrated proficiency in usage and application of technology.
