Job Summary
The Intervention Specialist at South Columbus Preparatory Academy will plan for and support the educational, behavioral, and social needs of students, especially those eligible for special education. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, writing and implementing behavior improvement plans, facilitating IEP meetings, and collaborating with teachers on intervention strategies. The candidate must hold a current state license, have knowledge of state standards, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office. The role requires strong organization skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- Current state license holder
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
- Experience working in a full room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model
- High quality written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)

- Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred
