Job Summary
Review evaluation reports and educational records to determine present levels of academic achievement and functional performance. Write compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that include measurable annual goals, specially designed instruction, accommodations, modifications, and related services. Collaborate with district administrators, intervention specialists, related service providers, and parents throughout the IEP development process, including participation in IEP meetings. Ensure all documentation adheres to Ohio Department of Education, IDEA, Section 504, and district procedures while maintaining accurate records within established timelines. This temporary, part-time role supports two partner school districts during the 2026-2027 school year for Summit Educational Service Center.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License
- Knowledge of IDEA, Ohio Operating Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities, and scholarship IEP requirements
- Experience developing compliant IEPs for students with disabilities
- Strong written communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Time-management skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple school districts
- Must be able to perform essential functions including prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and participation in meetings
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with electronic special education management systems
