Job Summary

Intervention Specialist opening for the 2026-2027 school year. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe classroom environment, collaborating to develop IEPs, designing programming and writing lesson plans based on concepts adapted from the general education curriculum, evaluating and documenting student performance, completing ETR reports and other required documentation, and supervising intervention assistants. The role supports students with disabilities across multiple areas including communication, self-confidence, socialization, functional living, vocational skills, leisure, and community access. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Special Education (preferred), knowledge of behavioral support strategies, potential training on safe movement/restraint, sign language ability, and an Ohio teaching license in an applicable field; valid Ohio driver’s license and insurance; and ability to pass a physical ability exam.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Special Education preferred
  • Knowledge or experience with Behavioral Support Strategies or Child Development
  • Experience or training on how to safely move or restrain individuals or objects
  • Sign language
  • Ohio Department of Education license in an applicable teaching field (may include Intervention Specialist, Music Education, or related field)
  • State of Ohio passenger vehicle drivers’ license and valid vehicle insurance
  • Must pass physical ability exam
