Job Summary
Plans, implements, and evaluates student learning experiences using a differentiated curriculum. Helps students manage behavior, identify goals, and make appropriate choices. Encourages parental involvement. Teaches scheduled classes, creates effective learning experiences, and ensures lesson plans align with the district’s adopted course of study. Works with staff to provide services in the least restrictive environment, collaborates with general education teachers to provide exposure to standards, assists with IEP development and data-driven evaluations, and utilizes available technology to support instruction and records management. Maintains accurate records, reports progress, communicates with parents, and participates in ongoing professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ohio teacher’s license or certificate appropriate for the assignment
- Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.)
- Documented evidence of a clear criminal record
- Training in physical and behavioral management techniques
