Job Summary
Intervention Specialists perform interviews with youth and families to screen and identify appropriate services and interventions, make recommendations to the Prosecutor’s Office regarding diversion options, and manage a high-volume diversion caseload. They conduct assessments using tools such as the Ohio Youth Assessment System (OYAS), MAYSI-II, and SOGIE, coordinate services with court-contracted providers and community resources, facilitate referrals, and perform case management across a wide network of partners. The role requires flexible hours (including evenings) to accommodate program needs, and involves collaboration with police, schools, and other court personnel to support juvenile justice objectives and public safety. Strong interviewing, organizational, and confidentiality skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual tools, are essential. Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a valid driver’s license.”,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Criminal Justice, or a related area
- Experience completing assessments utilized in the juvenile justice field preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and continuously maintain automobile insurance in compliance with state law
- Must have ready access to a safe functioning automobile with valid registration and insurance
