Job Summary
Intervention Specialist to support the educational and behavioral goals of all EK-8 students at Monroe Preparatory Academy. Responsibilities include collaborating with classroom teachers, interpreting student abilities and disabilities, modifying general education curricula, conducting diagnostic and functional behavior assessments, writing and implementing behavior improvement plans, facilitating IEP meetings and goals, monitoring progress toward student achievement and school culture goals, applying research-based planning and instruction, integrating culturally responsive teaching, serving as advisor to a group of students, and maintaining regular communication with families. The role also involves participation in planning non-instructional activities and other duties as assigned. Required qualifications include a state license and knowledge of standards; preferred experience in inclusive/co-teaching models and a growth-focused coaching environment; strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills; ability to pass background checks; and experience in multi-cultural settings. Required Qualifications
- Current state license
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
- Experience working in a full room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model
- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
- High quality written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)
- Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred
