Job Summary
Intervention Specialist to support the educational and behavioral goals of students, with a focus on students with IEPs. Responsibilities include collaborating with classroom teachers, interpreting student abilities and disabilities, adjusting general education curricula, conducting diagnostic and functional behavior assessments, writing and implementing behavior improvement plans, facilitating IEP meetings and goals, pursuing student achievement and school culture goals, applying research-based planning and instruction, integrating culturally responsive teaching, serving as an advisor to a group of students, and communicating with families about academic and social-emotional growth. Required: state license; knowledge of State Standards and Common Core; experience in full inclusion/co-teaching; comfort with growth-focused coaching; strong written/verbal communication; proficiency in Word/Outlook; excellent organization; ability to work independently and with a team; ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks. Preferred: experience in a multi-cultural setting.
Required Qualifications
- Current state license
- Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
- Experience working in a full room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model
- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
- High quality written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)
- Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred
