Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical environment, guiding practice according to the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. Perform diversified nursing functions in emergency or unpredictable situations requiring additional care beyond basic Registered Professional Nurse duties. Float to any patient care area as assessed by the Administrative Supervisor to meet varying needs. Maintain competency skills across critical care and specialty areas, including ACLS certification required within 60 days of employment. Work two 12-hour shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with a background screening requirement through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program
- Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of two (2) years current RN experience
- Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications
- BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
- RN, Certified
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certification
- Strong medical-surgical, critical care and/or obstetric skills
- Willingness to be cross-trained in all critical care and specialty areas with annual competency skills maintained
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to function well under stress
- Demonstrated knowledge of growth and development and possesses ability to assess, interact, communicate, and care for age specific patient population
