Job Summary
Unit Chief for the Interstate Child Support Unit within NYC Law Department’s Family Court Division. Oversees ICSU operations, directly supervises Borough Supervisory Staff, advances internal/external training, serves as chief legal advisor for ICSU case processing and litigation, ensures timely litigation through all phases, and establishes litigation and administrative policies. Acts as liaison to city and statewide agencies (e.g., OTDA, HRA’s Office of Child Support Services, Office of Court Administration). Requires travel to all boroughs and may involve extended hours; seeking an experienced attorney with leadership capabilities and strong advocacy and policy development skills.
Required Qualifications
- At least ten (10) years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of Family Law
- Knowledge and experience with the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act
- Knowledge of the Civil Practice Law and Rules
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Leadership skills
- Admission to the NYS Bar is required
