Job Summary
Provide simultaneous and/or consecutive interpreting services for technical automotive training sessions, ensuring target text accurately reflects source meaning while maintaining key terminology and addressing cultural inconsistencies. Deliver high-accuracy work by spotting errors and adhering to strict interpreting guidelines within a fast-paced environment involving multiple project priority changes. Maintain professionalism under pressure to meet tight deadlines while utilizing interpretation systems like bidule. Commute or travel onsite to Crewe, London, Liverpool, Birmingham, or Manchester areas for freelance engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Native speaker in one of the languages involved
- Minimum 2 years' Interpreting experience
- Excellent command of the English language in both comprehension and writing
- Linguistic and cultural competences of both source and target language
- Adaptive to fast-paced work environment with multiple changes of project priorities
- Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Experience with simultaneous & consecutive interpreting service
- Experience with Interpretation systems (bidule)
- Availability to either commuting or traveling to work onsite
- Ability to ensure the highest level of quality by following all interpreting guidelines
- Excellent communication, language and organisational skills
- Be punctual, reliable, confident, and professional
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree and/or Certificate of Higher Education in Languages, Translation, Interpretation, Philology, Linguistics or related fields
- Evidence that you are eligible to work in the UK
- Two References
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in translating technical courses would be a plus
