Job Summary
Provide American Sign Language and/or Conceptually Accurate Signed English interpretation for students, staff, and the community during school activities, assemblies, and emergency situations. Assess room setups for visibility and lighting to facilitate effective communication. Conduct meetings to educate district staff on facilitation techniques and confer with teaching staff to ensure student understanding and assist in evaluating language needs based on IEPs. Participate in workshops and committees to gather information and maintain knowledge of program guidelines. Prepare and maintain accurate records while adhering to safety practices and crisis intervention techniques. Requires Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing registration, minimum EIPA 3.5, and an Associate's degree. Background clearance and TB test are required.
Required Qualifications
- Kansas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Registration
- Minimum EIPA 3.5 or BEI Basic
- Minimum of an Associate's degree with study in job related area

Desired Qualifications
- Preferred EIPA 4.0, BEI Advanced, KQAS 4, NIC, or other RID Certification
