Translate communications to or from assigned schools, including flyers, calendars, newsletters, and letters for families speaking languages other than English. Send interpreter requests to the Language Management Specialist five days in advance for Spanish needs and ten days in advance for other languages. Assist families with enrollment, withdrawals, and transfers, and interpret for afterschool and evening activities such as Back to School night and Open House. Interpret for meetings including ELL, IEP, SIT, parent-teacher conferences, and special education sessions. Assist staff with phone calls, send blackboard messages to Spanish-speaking families, and update contact information. Provide support for school-based needs utilizing proper channels and assist freelance interpreters during conferences. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient work unit functioning. Requires fluency in English and Spanish, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
