Job Summary
Provide sign language interpretation for instruction across all subjects, translating spoken English into sign language (ASL/SEE) during school activities; interpret for resource classes and extracurricular activities; interpret classroom procedures and interactions with staff and students; assist in communication with school personnel; support classroom and standardized assessments; instruct deaf/hard-of-hearing students and teachers on correct interpreter use; monitor and report learning behaviors; collaborate with educators to facilitate inclusive communication and student engagement. Must hold an Associate degree in an accredited Interpreter Training Program and a valid Ohio Interpreter for the Hearing Impaired license, with RID or NAD certification desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited Interpreter Training Program
- Valid Ohio Interpreter for the Hearing Imaired license
- National certification by RID or NAD desirable
- Competency in English, ASL, SEE
