Job Summary
Analyze the current cutter bar drive system, including the motor, eccentric mechanism, and flywheel, focusing on loads, vibrations, and packaging constraints. Investigate and compare alternative mechanical and electrical drive concepts, then define evaluation criteria to create a concept selection matrix. Select promising ideas, develop preliminary designs in Creo Parametric, and prepare a well-founded recommendation for prototype development and testing. This educational or graduation internship offers significant freedom to work on a real engineering challenge with direct relevance to future product improvements, combining theoretical knowledge with practical application for machines operating daily in the field.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate technical challenges in a structured manner
- The ability to manage project work and maintain oversight between analysis, concept development, and design
- A curious and critical mindset, with the confidence to challenge existing solutions
- You have strong English communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Preferably experience with 3D CAD software, such as Creo Parametric
- Ideally, you are available for at least six months and a minimum of 32 hours per week
