Job Summary
Support market and portfolio research efforts by analyzing data to uncover insights on commercial real estate performance, portfolio positioning, and sector trends. Aggregate and summarize economic, real estate, and portfolio-level data, synthesizing information into charts, tables, and other visuals. Support the preparation of presentations, memos, and client reports while helping maintain and update real estate data files, dashboards, and financial models. Attend internal meetings and shadow full-time analysts to gain exposure to the investment research process. Assist with portfolio analysis projects, including reviewing property, loan, or fund-level data to support internal reporting, investment discussions, and strategy development. Work out of the Cedar Rapids, IA office on a hybrid model, with a 20-hour week during the semester and full-time hours from January to August 2027.
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled full-time at a college or university pursuing a degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
- Internships are not available for students who have completed their undergraduate college education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship
- Strong written & verbal communications skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team
- Demonstrated critical thinking, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work
- Proven ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines consistently, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data visualization)
- Internship requires a 20-hour work week during the school semester and full-time during the summer beginning in January 2027 and ending in August 2027
- Internship is based in our Cedar Rapids office
- Internship is not available for students who have completed their undergraduate college education or who will graduate prior to the conclusion of the internship
