Job Summary
Manage the intern hiring process with a focus on recruiting individuals of color, LGBTQ+ community members, and diverse economic backgrounds, while facilitating onboarding, offboarding, and retention through coaching and check-ins. Serve as a liaison for intern accommodations and performance challenges, providing guidance to supervisors on setting clear goals and building team capacity for program innovation. Oversee professional development via workshops and networking, manage program data including surveys and personnel files, and create the internship budget ensuring timely payments. Build relationships with partner universities, high schools, and compensated internship programs to recruit students and Federal Work-Study candidates, while coordinating with the Office of Youth Engagement and Opportunity. Update the Intern Hub and Supervisor Toolkit, conduct targeted outreach to students and alumni, and provide occasional tutoring support and event assistance.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional experience working in career services, education, admissions, or youth development nonprofit
- Experience developing and implementing DEI-aligned processes and protocols
- Exceptional relational skills and expertise in relationship-building and community-building within educational, nonprofit, or community-based settings
- Exceptional organizational, time management, project management, and resource management skills
- Knowledge of and fluency with social and racial justice, intersectionality, BIPoC and LGBTQIA+ history, and historic/current systems of oppression
- Ability to give and receive feedback with humility
- Ability to take initiative, demonstrate flexibility, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with the Boston Public Schools (BPS) system, particularly the schools in Roxbury, Dorchester, and Jamaica Plain
- Experience with Google Suite
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in a language in addition to English is preferred, but not required
