Internship Process Engineering & Data Analytics for Advanced Power Systems (m/f/d)

Job Summary
Internship at GE Vernova Gas Power Engineering (STEPS Switzerland) bridging process engineering and data science to optimize plant systems. Responsibilities include data analysis and modeling of operational data to identify trends and bottlenecks, technical analysis of balance-of-plant systems using thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, analysis of combined cycle power plant operations, development of scripts and automated workflows (Python) to process data, create visualizations, and explore AI tools for performance improvement, and documenting findings with data-driven recommendations. You will work alongside senior engineers, participate in workshops and site visits to GE Vernova sites in Switzerland and France, and gain exposure to how large-scale energy systems are designed and maintained. Required: pursuing a Master’s degree (or finishing a Bachelor’s) in Mechanical/Process/Energy-related fields, strong Python skills, experience applying AI/ML to physical engineering or time-series data, and English communication; relocation is not provided. Location is Baden, Switzerland with potential travel to France; on-site internship with no remote arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree (or finishing a Bachelor’s) in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or an Energy-related field
- Strong programming foundation (e.g., Python)
- Experience with applying AI/Machine Learning methods to physical engineering or time-series data
- Fluent in English
- Engagement and collaboration in an international team
