Job Summary

This internship offers 12-week OT fieldwork rotations or 8-week OTA fieldwork rotations, each requiring 40 hours per week and flexibility regarding the start date. Students must possess a strong foundation in child/adolescent mental health theory and related occupational therapy practice, along with skills in clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice. Supervision is provided by a licensed occupational therapist, emphasizing both group and individual OT services. Students are expected to engage in self-directed learning and demonstrate adaptability, patience, and compassion when working with clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student of an accredited Occupational Therapy Institution
  • Strong foundation in child/adolescent mental health theory
  • Knowledge of related OT theory and practice
  • Clinical reasoning skills
  • Foundations of evidence-based practice
  • Understanding of group theory and application
  • Teaching/learning concepts related to staff, client, and caregiver education

Additional Requirements

  • Student must be enrolled at an academic Institution that has an existing contract with Sheppard Pratt.
