Job Summary
Direct and independently plan field engineering efforts to ensure projects progress on time and on budget. Maintain records of job progress, costs, and material usage while reviewing plans to determine material quantities and pricing. Investigate reported incidents to recommend solutions and assist with estimating projects, including quantity take-offs. Facilitate material delivery by working with suppliers and support Submittals, RFIs, and Change Orders. Train individuals on work processes and technical requirements as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuit of Bachelors of Civil Engineering, Construction Management Degree or equivalent from four-year college
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
- Able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints
- Able to write presentations and articles using original or innovative techniques or style
- ability to make effective and persuasive arguments and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
- ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases
- Ability to use computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of calculus, modern algebra, and statistical theory
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
