Job Summary
Conduct child welfare fieldwork including in-home family visits, supervise parent/child visits, and intervene when necessary. Facilitate Child and Family Team Meetings and develop service and visitation plans while documenting all contacts. Participate in group supervision, bi-weekly team meetings, and agency trainings. Apply DCFS policies and procedures regarding trauma, loss, juvenile court, and legal screening processes. Complete mandatory reporter training and foster parent recruitment activities. Start in the summer for training with one day per week in June, July, and August, followed by a 15-20 hour weekly schedule including one evening per week. Pass criminal and CANTS background checks. Provide proof of current car insurance; agency cars are available but personal vehicle use may be necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Child Welfare MSW /BSW placement requirements
- Must be able to start in the summer for training
- Must be able to work one evening per week
- Must provide proof of current car insurance
- Must feel comfortable, after a training period, to supervise parent/child visits and intervene in the visit when necessary
- Must feel comfortable with in home family visits
- Pass criminal and CANTS (DCFS) background check
